Alama’s Mex Tex is a family-driven food brand built on authentic recipes, bold flavors, and a passion for sharing great food. The story begins with Alma, whose roots trace back to Juárez, Mexico, where generations of family recipes were passed down with care and tradition. After moving to the United States, those recipes became the foundation of a new culinary journey.
Combined with the owner's upbringing in Texas, Alama’s Mex Tex brings together the best of both worlds. The warmth and authenticity of Mexican cuisine meet the bold, comforting flavors of Texas, creating a unique food experience that is rarely found in the Netherlands.
WHY wE DO WHAT WE DO.
For us, food is more than something you eat. It is a way to bring people together, share stories, and celebrate culture. We started Alama’s Mex Tex because we wanted to introduce the Netherlands to the authentic flavors we grew up with. Not the Tex-Mex most people know, but real family recipes made with fresh ingredients, traditional techniques, and a genuine love for cooking.
Every salsa, tortilla, pickle, and dish is made with the same care and passion that inspired the brand from the very beginning. Our goal is simple: to share the food we love and create moments that people remember.

You can find Alama’s Mex Tex at local farmers markets, where we sell our freshly made products. We also offer catering for private celebrations, corporate events, and custom occasions, bringing authentic Mexican cuisine with a bold Texas twist directly to your guests. And every other week, we prepare a selection of our favorite dishes for home delivery, making it easy to enjoy the taste of Alama’s Mex Tex in the Hilversum area.
